Colon cancer (adenocarcinoma) showing expression of CDX2 in tumor cells.

CDX2 - Marker for cells in the gastrointestinal tract

CDX2 is a transcription factor encoded by the gene with the same name and is important for many processes during embryonic development. In adult normal human tissues CDX2 expression is restricted to the intestines, colon and rectum and is therefore a selective and clinically useful marker for cancers of intestinal origin. Ectopic expression of CDX2 has also been implicated in cases of acute myeloid leukemia.

Show CDX2 in the protein atlas.
